Rincon is a city in Effingham County, Georgia. Incorporated in 1927, it has a population of over 6,000 inhabitants. The name ‘Rincon’ is said to have originated from a tiny, but prosperous, town named ‘Rincon’ in Mexico. It is an exclusive community with custom-made homes near the rivers and golf courses.
Rincon has a predominantly subtropical climate. The humid weather is tempered by a cool breeze. Hot and humid summers are typical with cool, mild winters. Heavy precipitation is received all over. The city is also vulnerable to hurricanes.
Rincon’s existence as a community dates back to the 1800s. The railroads were instrumental in giving Rincon’s economy a boost. It has experienced a phenomenal growth in the past few years with a number of commercial establishments being developed.
