Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and the sixth largest city in the European Union. Home to around 1.8 million people, its name is from the first permanent building on the site, a castle built in 808 A. D by Emperor Charlemagne. It has a total area of 755 square kilometers having warm climate in the month of June, July and August. The coldest months are December to February.
