Baden-Baden is a town located on the Oos River in the foothills of the Black Forest,in the region of Karlsruhe in south-west Germany.
This small picturesque town, population 54,000, with its superb belle époque architecture nestles acres of graceful parkland.
Hot, mineral-rich water is drawn from beneath the town centre and piped into the numerous baths and fountains.
Although its reputation as a spa playground for the aristocracy dates from the 19th-century, people have been enjoying this idyllic valley since the Romans built the first baths in AD 70.
