Reviews The Viticulture Museum of Stuttgart
The Viticulture Museum of Stuttgart
Stuttgart-Uhlbach has become a rendezvous for all connoisseurs and lovers
of fine wine.
The historical building shows the wine-growing in Baden-Württemberg, the
old wine presses, wine barrels, glasses and goblets and wine containers from
two millennia made from materials available during those times: clay, stoneware,
glass and pewter, certificates, maps, corkscrew collection.
The museum is organized in such a way that you do not need a guide. Instead,
on entering the museum an illuminated rail leads you past all the exhibits which
are arranged according to specific themes. Accompanying texts and photographs
provide all the background information you may need.
After viewing the exhibits, visitors can sit back and sample the qualities of
the wines of Stuttgart in the relaxing atmosphere of "Weinstüble"
(wine tavern). Here you can try two wines from each of the seven wine growing
cooperatives based in Stuttgart and from the wine growing estate of Stuttgart
itself.
