The Asam Church was built from 1733 to 1746 by the brothers, Cosmas Damian Asam and Egid Quirin Asam as their private church. The brothers were forced to make the church accessible to the public though they had taken the costs of the building themselves. The brothers richly decorated the historic building with stucco ornaments and frescoes, oil paintings and stucco figures too.
