The BMW Museum is situated near the Olympiapark in Munich, Bavaria. Shortly prior to the opening of Summer Olympics, the museum was established in 1972.  This museum deals with automobile manufacturer BMW's history.  Also, the museum was renovated from 2004 to 2008, reopening in 2008. This museum enjoys 250,000 visitors per year.

The exhibits include the technical development of BMW throughout the company’s history.  There are engines, turbines, vehicles, motorcycles and aircrafts in many possible variations. The focus is on technical development as well as on benefits of modernity.

The futuristic silver building where the museum is housed in is known as the salad bowl or the white cauldron.  The building was designed by BMW headquarters architect, Karl Schwanzer.  Slideshows and in-depth exhibits are situated on four “islands” inside the building.  The museum is worth visiting not only for BMW fans, but also for history lovers as BMW represents the prosperity and technical excellence which represents Germany's incredible post -war success and development.
