Isarvorstadt isn’t the most popular, most central or most dazzling of nightlife destinations in Munich but it has an underground following which suggests that there are good reasons to rate it. It is one of those areas of every large city that we all hate to love, but we do, those grimy places where there’s always some form of life on the streets, no matter how distasteful and somehow everybody can find a home.
Put simply Isarvorstadt is good for bars, pubs and some good quality unpretentious culture with cinemas and music venues. Zoozie’z is a great little pub that offers all you could possibly ask for in a straight forwards down to earth establishment: cheap lunches EUR 5.25, a Sunday brunch EUR 14.25 and legendary parties. This huge establishment has been a Munich institution for the past 20 years. To get here the nearest Train: Silberhornstraße: U2, U7, U8, or by bus Baldeplatz: Bus 58. The gay scene is well represented by Aroma Kaffe Bar on Pestalozzistrasse, number 24. Check out also City Kinos cinema: great selection of movies, nice staff, fair pricing, great location with quite some bars nearby!
