Sugar, a large and once very popular club on the Munich night scene has a ‘proud’ history (thats right kids - gay club!). The history of Sugar takes us back to the 1980s when it boasted a few select clients by the names of Freddie Mercury, Frank Zappa and Uschi Obermaier. This was the clubs hey-day, after which such clients either died... or simply stopped coming. Sugar has unfortunately struggled to maintain its place at the forefront of Munich nightlife despite its renovation which has fitted it out with ivory walls and leather sofas. (maybe a little too 80s?).
Even if Sugar doesn’t hold the same place in the crowd as it did before it still has a lot to boast about and you may undoubtedly be seduced by the different rooms and three huge bars with all sorts of drinks available. The music hasn’t changed since its heyday and there is always a good crowd, reliving their youth, who are proud to party!
