The Frauenkirche is known as the Church of Our Lady and dominates the Main Market, which is known as Hauptmarkt in Nurnberg. Emperor Karl IV sponsored the finance for building this historic building and since 1816, it has been considered as the main Catholic church of Nurnberg. It is also the oldest church in Franconia. There are guided tours of the church from January to April and in October.
