Ostbahnhof Berlin or the Berlin East Railway station is a mainline station in Berlin. Situated in Friedrichshain, it has been renamed several times. From 1987 to 1998, it was known by the name,’ Berlin Hauptbahnhof’. Opened in 1842, this railway station has 11 tracks and 9 platforms. Five of them are used for mainline and 4 for S-Bahn. Two of the tracks are through tracks only.
