Tempelhof International Airport or Berlin Tempelhof, as known in Germany is located in Tempelhof - Schöneberg borough.
Opened in 1923, this airport is the world's first one to have a railway station built underground. The railway station was opened in 1927 and is known as Platz der Luftbrücke.
The airport possesses 2 parallel runways of length 2094 m and 1840 m. Route 96/96a is located just off the airport. This route connects the airport with the city center.
The underground railway connects U1 and U7 branches with the urban railway network.Apart from this, a local bus service is available for traveling from various spots in the city to the airport.
