The Berlin Wall was a physical barrier which separated West Berlin from East Germany and East Berlin. There was also a long inner German border which demarcated the border between the West and East Germany. Both this borders symbolized the Iron Curtain between the Eastern Bloc and the Western Europe. This wall was there for more than a quarter century and was removed in 1989.
