Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem is situated at Berlin-Dahlem, Free University of Berlin, Königin-Luise-Straße 6-8 Queen Luise-road 6-8. It is open on each day of the week from 10:00 to 18:00 hrs. 24th December is the only holiday.
The museum is one-of-its-kind in Central Europe and complements the botanical garden situated in the close vicinity. It provides an opportunity to observe and learn the fabulous plant-life which varies from fine specimens to enlarged models.
Some of the species are not even visible to the naked-eye. Highly-magnified algae as well as other cryptograms, flowers, fruits and other plants are on display here.
The museum offers tours through phytogeographical and palaeontological sections where the museum has painstakingly preserved fossils and plant-formations on artificially constructed landscapes.
The Egyptian section contains fascinating displays of herbal decorations and flower-garlands from the tombs of Pharaohs. Apart from these permanent exhibitions, there are a couple of temporary ones, which focus on a special topic.
