The Brücke-Museum is situated at Bussardsteig 9 and can be reached by a walking distance from Clayallee / Pücklerstraße bus stop. Except Tuesday, the museum is open everyday from 11:00 to 17:00 hrs.
It remains closed on 24th and 31st December and on 1st January it operates from 13:00 to 17:00 hrs only.
The museum is dedicated to a group of artists known as ‘Brucke’. Founded in 1905 by 4 students, it played a major role in developing the modernism of the 20th-Century art.
The term ‘Expressionism’ came into existence because of Brucke’s un-ruled passion for form and color.
The museum proudly displays over four-hundred paintings and sculptures, drawings, prints and watercolor canvases. Some of the famous paintings include artwork from Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde, Max Pechstein and Otto Mueller.
The museum offers guided tours on most of the exhibitions and also publishes catalogues of artists.
