La Neue Nationalgalerie Museum is situated at Potsdamer Strasse 50 and is just at the South of Tiergarten. It remains open from 10AM to 6 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 10AM to 10PM on Thursdays to Saturdays.
The museum showcases the classical modern art of Berlin in the early 20th-Century. Several part of modernism such as expressionism, cubism, and surrealism and Bauhaus are explored in the museum.
Artwork from the 19th-Century artists emphasizing on French impressionists can be seen here. Adolph von Menzel's paintings from 1850 represent German art.
The 20th-Century collection of arts includes Edward Munch, E L Kirchner and Max Beckmann. Paintings from Ernst, Bacon, Picasso, Klee and several American artists like Barnett Newman are also on display.
The collection is continuously expanding. There is a food counter on the ground floor which is open from 10:30AM to 5:45PM.
