Berlin is an exciting city, rich with cultural and historical interest. To see it in a day is a challenge but one well worth attempting.
To start with, swift and affordable transport around all the major sights can be found in the shape of "hop-on hop-off" buses which charge between €13 and €20 for the day and operate between 10am and 5pm.
For historic interest the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and Checkpoint Charlie are unmissable and best viewed early before the crowds arrive. A more novel perspective can be achieved with an underground walking tour exploring subways, bunkers and cold war sites.
For dinner the choices are endless and range from the Berliners favorite, the Currywurst, normally vended from a street stall, to Michelin starred restaurants. Check out the restaurant Woodlouse on Oranienburger Straße for authentic and enigmatic dining.
