Sanssouci Palace had been constructed to serve Frederick II, a ‘Prussian Emperor’; as summer seat of his. Sanssouci, in French, literally means: ‘no worries’. It, in fact, goes on to reflect the reality that the intention of building this palace was to act as an ‘escape route’ from pressures of married life and Berlin. The park which adjoins Sanssouci Palace is, however, the ‘showpiece’ of this place.
