St. Michael is the Central Protestant Church and is locally known as the Michel which refers to the Church Spire. The church is one of the grandest churches among the northern baroque churches. The building has been renovated many a times and the first big Michaeliskirche was originally built during the year 1649 and 1661 by the Christoph Corbinus and Peter Marquardt.
