Germany is considered to be very safe when it comes to travelling. There are no particular vaccinations or health regulations required for entering Germany. However, it is advisable to get Hepatitis A and B vaccines as a precaution.

Thefts and crimes against travellers are very rare, but it is always preferable to be cautious especially of pickpockets in crowded areas. Most crimes occur in big, densely populated cities, with Berlin leading the pack, followed by Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Frankfurt. A possible cause of conflict could be Skinheads, called ‘Glatzen’, who are notorious for being violent, especially with ‘foreigners’. In case of any such trouble, it is best to not get involved and immediately inform the police.
