Frankfurt am Main offers many sightseeing attractions. Deciding which one is the most extraordinary is no easy task. One really has to come to Frankfurt and see for him - or her - self. We have compiled a short selection to give you a taste of things to come, as well as some helpful hints for your individual sightseeing tour. As a rule, every tour begins with your arrival in Frankfurt.
The city skyline, the modern landmark of this business and finance metropolis, stands at the ready to welcome visitors from afar. At the city centre, one finds the historical Römer, Frankfurt Cathedral, St. Paul´s Church and the Goethe-House within very close proximity to one another, yet still within sight of the modern banking district.
Close by, Frankfurt´s museum landscape is on show along the Main River on the unique museum embankment. And if you find yourself on a shopping spree though downtown Frankfurt, make sure to take some rest in one of the many streetside cafés - it´s the perfect way to take in the charm of the city, particularly on a warm summer´s day. And lastly, let´s not forget our very own apple wine.
Frankfurt´s local beverage of preference, also known as "Ebbelwei" or "Stöffche", is as much a part of Old Sachsenhausen as is "Frau Rauscher", one of Frankfurt´s most-loved personalities, who has gained quite a reputation for giving patrons a spray-down with the garden hose during hot spells, among other things.
We will continue to update this list on regular basis. You may make up your own mind about Frankfurt within the framework of a weekend holiday stay. Visit www.frankfurt-tourismus.de and plan and book your visit. See you in Frankfurt!
