Liebieghaus is housed in a castle like structure and is an art museum. It presently accommodates high quality sculpture collection and offers an overview of over five thousand years of sculpture from Ancient Egypt to Neoclassicism. The sculpture collection of the Galerie of Städtische of Frankfurt opened in 1909 to complement to the existing painting collection in Städel Museum.
