Frankfurt, being a major commercial centre, holds a number of trade fairs for cars, technical gadgets, books and consumer goods during the year. Food served here displays a multi ethnic cuisine including Thai, Latin American, Mediterranean and Japanese along with local German delicacies.

The popular food items here are apple wine sold in clay pitchers, smoked pork sausages and crown cakes. Although many of the service outlets include a service charge it is customary to tip the waiter or the cleaning staff in the hotel.

The coastal regions in Germany have temperate weather conditions with mild cloudy winters and warm summers. Bring appropriate clothing depending on the time of the year that you are visiting. Rain is unpredictable and can be expected at any time during the year. Therefore bring waterproof shoes and an umbrella, if possible.
