This is a historical center of Aachen with the Elisa Fountain in the plaza also known as Elisenbrunnen. The columns of the fountain were designed by Friedrich Schinkel in 1822. There are 2 fountains which provide drinking water. On the opposite side of this structure is a modern bronze sculpture with 3 young people saluting in the traditional Aachen style.
