Bochum holds various historical sites, which describe the history of the city. The Town Hall was the center of all main events of the Bochum. Propsteikirche St. Peter und Paul is the oldest structure in the town.
It was built around the year 785 to 800. However, it was built once again in the 11th century. The 68 meters tall bell tower is a remarkable landmark of the town. The church consists of historical shrines of St. Perpetua and Felicitas, her slave.
Pauluskirche is the main church in the city. It was constructed in the year 1650. Nature lovers can visit the Bochum Geological Garden. It is the site of a historical pit. One can easily make out the rock structure in the city from this garden.
Tourists must visit the German Mining Museum. This museum exhibits how the coal mines functioned in Bochum. Lake Kemnade is a wonderful place for enjoying boating and excursions in the natural surroundings.
