Altstadt or Old Town has a number of old and historic buildings including the Old City Hall called Rathaus, a shipping museum called Schlossturm, St. Ursula-gymnasium in the old Grammar school, a number of fountains and the St. Lambertus Basilica.
The Altstadt in Düsseldorf is one of the forty nine districts of the region situated near the river Rhine and it is known as the longest bar in the world.
This is because the Old Town has over three hundred bars and discotheques and a small population of just twenty three hundred people.
The beer served in the bar is made from a traditional recipe which is found only in a few places across the globe.
There are several restaurants and taverns situated along pedestrian alleyways and one can dine, walk, taste beer in the bar and sightsee at the tourist attractions.
