Tourist Guide Winterberg
Winterberg can be described as a small town located in Hochsauerland district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Winterberg lies amidst Sauerland, right at source of Lenne and Ruhr river. Neighboring municipalities are inclusive of Schmallenberg, Olsberg, Medebach, and Hallenberg.
Government reforms had taken place in the year 1975; according to which it comprises of fourteen districts; inclusive of Zuschen, Neuastenberg, Hildfeld, Mollseifen, Gronebach, Silbach, Lenneplatze, Elkeringhausen, Siedinghausen, Langewiese, Altenfeld, Niedersfeld, Hoheleye, and Altastenberg.
Winterberg is amongst winter sports centers with respect to Sauerland. It’s best known for luge, bobsleigh, and ‘skeleton track’. In the year 2003, the 1st Official World Wok Championships were held. They had been initiated by none other than Stefan Raab.
Winterberg got declared in the form of a city in around 1270 by Archbishop Konrad von Hochstaden. Foundation was carried out in ‘Kustelberg’ with cloister.
