The Semperoper is the opera house of the Saxon State Opera Dresden and also the concert hall of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden in Dresden. First built in 1841 by Gottfried Semper, the architect, this building has been rebuilt many times, due to natural calamities like the flood in 2002, when the site suffered heavy water damage. It reopened in December 2002 and is worth visiting for its interior and exterior decoration.
