Thuringia is a year round destination in Germany and a truly great place to visit. Be it culture, scenery, relaxing spas, history or sport activities, one can find infinite kind of fun here. Thuringia is a small state of Germany, a perfect place where tourists can enjoy many activities. Known as the green heart of Germany, Thuringia covers a varied terrain of mountains, rivers and valleys as well. This historic area is also home to many medieval period towns worth visiting any time of the year. This land of theaters also hosts many festivals worth attending. Many can visit this place in summer, especially for the festivals. Irrespective of any season, Thuringia is a year round destination for many reasons. It is home to the local gourmets, cheese, chocolates, beers, wines and even flavored herb schnapps other than potato dumplings and Stollen. Thuringia is not really on the tourist map (yet), so great deals can be had for budget conscious tourists during mosts times of the year.
