Santorini: Attractions and more...
It is generally agreed that the spectacular views of the volcano and surrounding islands, and in particular, the sunsets in Santorini, are among the most beautiful in the world.
The small towns and of Santorini perch precariously on the overlooking the central lagoon. In and around these, you can visit numerous examples of the small picturesque domed chuches, so representative of Greek island culture.
A popular pastime for tourists are visits to the vineyards and production centres of the island’s small but thriving wine industry. Here you can sample, and purchase, a range of Santorini’s delicious and distinctive wines.
The main industry though is tourism, and there is an excellent infrustructure including access to black sand beaches, sailing, waterskiing and, of course, diving in the deep lagoon.
There are also many tavernas and restaurants where you can enjoy tpical Greek cuisine and the delicious seafood specialities of the island.
