A number of significant historical sites and ancient monuments are housed in this region. Also of interest are the several villages that are spread across the area, particularly Livadi and Panayia. Livadi is the port of the island and has a wide variety of facilities and a lively nightlife.
Located on a hillside, Panayia is also a beautiful village. It houses the Church of Xylo Panayia, which gives a panoramic view of the entire island.
Serifos has some exquisite beaches of different varieties and sizes. Most of the beaches have water sports facilities and other recreational amenities. The major beaches in the area are the Livadi, Avlomonas and Agios Ioannis beaches.
The region is also known for its fairs and festivals, which depict the culture of the island. The Panagia Festival, Agios Panteleimonas Festival and Metamorfosi tou Sotiros Festival are some of the famous events that take place every year.
