Gifted with spectacular natural beauty, Alonissos has mystic sea caves, sandy turfs, picturesque sites and tranquil waters. Apart from that, ethnic settlements, churches and other interesting sites are also to be found.
The Traditional House of Alonissos is a recently opened museum which is worth a visit. The ground floor has several exhibits showcasing the cultural heritage, while the first floor houses the re-creation of a traditional Alonissos house.
Alonissos hosts a live music concert and a carnival during spring. The carnival is filled with local events like processions, dances, music and religious festivals.
The National Maritime Park of Alonissos is a popular park consisting of six small islands. The area also houses different species of birds, fish, reptiles and mammals, which includes one of the rarest animals in Europe, the Mediterranean Monk Seal.
