Andros is a green island lying in between two beaches in Cyclade, Greece. The population of this mountain city with scenic valleys is around 11,000. Famous for its mineral springs, it is an attractive place with various traditional and picturesque villages.
Blessed with an overall pleasant climate, Andros has mild temperatures. Summers are very gentle with cool breezes and winters, mild. Andros receives the highest rainfall in the Cyclade region and snowfall is quite common. The best season to visit is spring.
Earlier known as the ‘island of the captains’, it was a prosperous region with alluring classical buildings. Today, the economy is based mainly on agriculture with the major produces being wine, wheat, tobacco and olive oil.
