Tourist Guide Astipalea
Astipalea is a Greek island located in the Dodecanese Islands. Strewn with pebbled beaches, Astipalea means ‘old city’. A modest degree of well-being prevails in the population of approximately 1,300 people. The place is one of the major tourist destinations of Greece.
A temperate climate is found in Astipalea, which exhibits warm, pleasant summers and mild, dry winters. It is hot from July to October, after which the monsoons begin. Meltemi winds play a major role in alleviating the temperatures. Spring is the best season to visit.
Settled long before the age of written history, the Carian people were the foremost settlers in this region. Today, the population follows fishing and agriculture as occupations. Tourism earns them the maximum revenue.
