One of the major tourist attractions of Greece, the Temple of Olympian Zeus also referred to as the Olympieion, was initially completed in 2nd century AD. This huge ruined temple is located in the centre Athens. It was dedicated to king of the Olympian gods Zeus. It was one of the largest temples in Greece during the Roman periods and home to one of the biggest cult statues in the ancient times.
