A trip to Diakofto will give the tourist a feel of a typical Greek village. It has a main street which has most of the stores and several taverns. Being a small town, the best way to explore Diakofto is on foot.
The Diakofto-Kalavrita railway track is a historic 750-mm gauge rack railway—a special type of toothed rack mounted on the railway track. It covers some locations of tourist interest like the Vouraikos Gorge and the old ‘Mega Spileon’ Monastery.
Diakofto has seasonal product fairs like the Sardine’s Festival which is usually on every second Saturday of June. The town also has a small harbour and a beach which is not very good for swimming.
