Folegandros is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea. It lies in the southern part of Cyclades. The island constitutes of three villages Chora, Karavostassis and Ano Meria which are inter-connected by paved roads.
The island of Folegandros has a diverse landscape that includes tall cliffs and huge caves. Chora, the capital of the island, is located on a 200-m high cliff.
The climatic conditions of Folegandro are very pleasant. The humidity due to the sea is well complimented by the dry north winds. The temperature tends to rise to about 30°C in the months of May and June, but the winds form the north-east have a cooling effect during summer. The best time to visit Folegandro is between Easter time and September when the temperature is around 23°C.
Folegandros is sparsely populated with about 700 inhabitants.
