Tourist Guide Gavados
Gavados is a small islet lying south of the island of Crete. It is the southernmost part of Greece and Europe. It falls under the prefecture of Chania and forms a community with the neighbouring islets making it a part of the province of Selino.
The isle is triangular in shape and has a semi-rocky terrain. The isle is mostly covered with pine trees and cedars. It has a subtropical climate which is warm and dry, with few rain showers. Summers can get rather warm with temperatures rising up to 40°C.
Gavados has a very small population of about one hundred people and has a harbour called Karave. It has three villages namely, Kastri, the capital of Gavados, Vatsiana and Ambelos.
