Gavados has become more popular with the tourists after it was recently awarded the ‘Golden Starfish’ award for its beautiful beaches, which include Sarakiniko, Korfos, Tripiti, Ag Ioannis and Potamos.
Sarakiniko is a rocky limestone beach with very little sand in one area. It also offers tourists a chance to indulge in activities such as snorkelling which allows the exploration of a lot of caves and ship wrecks.
Tiripti has a ‘giant chair’ on top of one of its capes and cannot be missed. Camping can be done on the beaches as there are a few taverns around.
The islet offers tourists a peaceful and quiet getaway. There is not much to do here besides visiting the beaches. There are a few taverns and cafes in the capital that offer nightlife and entertainment.
