Kea is an island in the Cyclades Archipelago in the Aegean Sea in Greece. Its capital is Ioulis. Other major villages of Kea are Korissia, the port, and Vourkari, the fishing village.
The island has a hilly terrain and an arid climate. The weather is very mild and dry, especially in summers during which the temperature remains between 25°C and 30°C. Winters are temperate with temperatures rarely falling below 8°C. During spring, the whole island is covered with blooming flowers converting it into an island paradise.
The population of Kea is 1,800. A majority of the inhabitants are involved in stock breeding where cows, pigs and sheep are raised on the island. Besides dairy products, Kea also produces excellent vegetables, fruit and nuts.
