Kefalonia boasts of some of the best beaches in Greece. The most popular beach of Myrtos was ranked fifth worldwide for its scenic beauty. Several other beaches of the island are Antisamos, Emblisi Beach Fiskardo, Foki Beach Fiskardo, Lourdas Beach etc.
There are two castles in Kefalonia—Assos Castle located to the north of Argostoli and St. George Castle on the coast. There are several churches in Kefalonia of which The Monastery and Church of Agios Gerassimos, The convent of Agios Andreas and The Monastery of Agrilion must be visited for their beautiful architecture.
Kefalonia has a vibrant culture with numerous festivals and feasts celebrated throughout the year, especially during summer. The religious festivals include Feast day of the Virgin Mary, Feast of Agios Gerassimos and Feast of Panagia Agrilia. Other cultural festivals are International Music Festival of Argostoli, Music Festival of Lixouri and Robola Wine Festival.
