The City of Rhodes lies on the Greek island of Rhodes in the south-eastern Aegean, close to the coast of Turkey. The city of Rhodes is one of the biggest municipalities of all the Greek islands with a population of 60,000.
It is the cultural and financial centre of the area and mixes a rich historical past with a lively present .
The medieval aspects, fortified behind impressive walls, merge perfectly with the cosmopolitan air of a modern resort with hotels, broad streets, elegant stores and most developed tourist infrastructures in Greece.

Visited Pefki in May 2012 for one week, was a lovely holiday for that time of year, not too hot. Hired a car for 3 days and toured around. Found some lovely restaurants, sea food quite expensive but can eat cheaper depending on your taste. People very friendly and helpful. Visited Prasonisi, Lindos and Rhodes town. Also took a boat trip to Symi, very nice place but the boat was packed out and some people had to stand or sit on the floor, not ideal for the 1 hour 40 minute journey.

Have been going to Rhodes now for 13 years and love the friendly people who go out of their way to help you. Pefkos where we stay is a wonderful a sandy beach, fantastic tavernas, and a wonderful array of bars. a trip around the coast in a local hire car is a must as the island greatly differs from the Aegean side through the forests to the Med side.
