The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek God Helios which was later erected on the Greek Island of Rhodes by Charles of Lindos between 292 and 280 BC. This statue is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. However, before its destruction, this statue stood almost over 30 meters and it was one of the tallest statues of the ancient world. This statue fell during the earthquake which hit the city in 226 BC.
