Samos is a Greek Island situated in the Eastern Aegean Sea. It is one of the most fertile islands of the Aegean Sea and is occupied by approximately 40,000 inhabitants. Samos Island is blessed with exquisite beauty as well as a strong cultural and historical heritage.
A typical Mediterranean climate prevails in this region. Summers are warm and winters, mild. Strong winds and precipitation are common during the summer months. Rainfall visits the place in regular intervals throughout the year. Spring and autumn are delightful seasons to visit.
Historically, Samos Island was a major centre of Ionian culture and was well known for its Samian wine. Today, the town is developing rapidly with agriculture and tourism. The Muscat grape is the main agricultural produce used to make the famed Samian wine.
