Spetses is an attractive island and is part of the Saronic Islands in Greece. This independent municipality has a populace of around 4,000 inhabitants and was earlier known as Pityoussa. With sandy beaches, architectural beauty and rich vegetation, this picturesque island is worth a visit.
A Mediterranean climate prevails in this region which is warm all year long. Summers are hot and sunny while winters are mild with light rainfall. Ideal temperatures are experienced in spring and autumn when the air is pleasant.
The region is regarded to have been inhabited around 2000 BC. The minor population of this region was engaged in making ships and repairing them. In today’s times, tourism brings in the maximum revenue, followed by agriculture.
