Housed in a huge mansion, the Spetses Museum is an excellent example of eighteenth-century architecture. The first floor consists of a collection of relics representing the island’s history and culture. Costumes, portraits, coins, weapons and manuscripts are some of the inclusions in the museum.
The monastery of Agios Nikolaos, built in the early 1800’s, is another place of interest for the visitors. It consists of mosaic interiors and a stunning bell tower made of fine marble. The monastery is much famous and visited by worshippers.
Easters in Spetses are the perfect time to visit for the lively festivities and events. The whole town comes alive during this festival with parades and musical processions.
Anargiria is a popular arts festival which includes various cultural events focussing on performing and visual arts. A rotating exhibition is also held wherein the traditional and cultural artefacts of the region are displayed.
