Tourist Guide Zante
Historically, Zante owes its fame to the battles between Sparta and Athens, that took place really in this site of the ancient Greece.
The island is also mentioned in the Iliad and the Odyssey by the poet Homer : in the Odyssey, Ulysses became the king of Zante after he had left from Ithaca.
The island is also the place where the italian poet Ugo Foscolo was born.
Today the island is one of the most tourist sites attended of the whole Greece, because of its mild climate and its wonderful beaches, the many diving centers, natural beauty, nightlife and restaurants.
The island has one internationale airport and one very equipped port that offers daily transportation from and to Zante and the rest of Europe.
