The Metro in Budapest, Hungary is a metro system that is second-oldest underground metro system in the world. This metro system consists of three lines and each of them is designated by a number and a color. There are 40 completed stations at every interval. Metro Line 1 was declared a World Heritage Site in the year 2002. Metro Line 4 is presently under construction. The construction of the metro system was started on May 2nd, 1896. There is one meeting point of the lines at present and that is Deák tér. Around 1.27 million passengers travel through this system on a regular basis. The complete length of the 3 metro lines is 31.7 km.
