Budapest History Museum
Located in recently renovated Royal Palace in Buda, the Budapest History Museum in Hungary is one of the country’s relatively newer institutions of the 19th century. But, the chief task of the museum is to research and organize the chronological events of the city.
One of the oldest exhibits at the Budapest History Museum is the collection of 1000-year-old deer antler hammers used as tools by ancient civilizations. Also it has a plethora of clay pots and objects used for ritual by the wealthy citizens of the Bronze Age. The museum deals with the artifacts of the era between the liberation of Buda from the Turks and the beginning of the 1900’s. Silver and gold ornaments, containers made of porcelain, glass, silver, dresses, ancient jewelry, maps, you name it, this museum probably has it.
The intent of the Budapest History Museum is to conserve Hungary’s treasures while sharing them with the public, and in turn, serving the education of future generations. This is a great place to check out for a handful of reasons, not just historical education. It’s also an opportunity to see a phenomenal view of the city from the museum. The Royal Palace in Buda is a fantastic attraction in and of itself.
