Carmelo: Attractions and more...
Carmelo has much to offer to its tourists all year round. Direct motorboats to the city are available at the port of Tigre in Buenos Aires.
One of main tourist attractions is the swing bridge that was inaugurated on 1 May 1912. The first swing bridge in South America, the metal used for its construction came from Germany. The bridge is meant only for pedestrians and cyclists.
During March and April, the local wineries are worth visiting. It is at this time of the year when the grapes are harvested and new wines are ready for tasting.
Carmelo also has several beaches, which extend for miles and offer an ideal place to bask in sun or take long walks and explore the countryside. The Four Seasons Hotel at Carmelo has a beautiful golf course designed by American Golf Course Design, which includes challenging white sand bunkers and artificial lakes.
