Sóstógyógyfürdõ or Sosto, a thermal lake, is the most popular attraction of this area. The warm waters of the lake are surrounded by huge parkland; there is also a zoo in the vicinity which is home to animals from all over the world. The Village Museum of Sosto showcases the life and customs of the people living in nineteenth-century villages.
The Andras Josa Museum displays a collection of artefacts from the city’s history. It contains articles dating as far back as the Bronze Age. There are several churches in the town belonging to different religions, as well as a synagogue.
The Autumn and Fruit Carnival held during the first weekend of September draws a large number of visitors. The parade is the highlight, and there are also several concerts.
The famed wine region of Hungary, Tokaj, is not too far away. The Bald Mountain and the many wine cellars are the highlights of this town.
